Increase in Police URN Administration Fees Announced with effect from 1st April 2024
Following a recent review, the National Police Chiefs’ Council Finance and Coordinating Committee has announced a forthcoming 4.6% administration fee increase for issuing Unique Reference Numbers (URNs) by Police Forces in England, Wales and Northern Ireland for remote signalling systems requiring a police response. The increase will take effect from 1st April 2023.
The new fees will apply to any contract signed after 1st April 2024. The one exemption is for URN’s of existing security system takeovers which will be frozen at the 2023 price.
NSI Circular Letter 02/24 issued this month to NSI approved installers and Alarm Receiving Centres provides more information including a reminder that URN administration fees must be clearly highlighted in writing to customers purchasing security systems. The Circular Letter can be found in the Company Login area of the NSI website.
