Access control systems monitor and control access to your property.
Access control systems for your home
Making sure your home is as protected and safe as possible from intruders could not be more important. Access control reduces risk and increases the safety of your family by allowing you to manage and monitor who can come in to your home.
Ask for an access control system that complies with NSI Code of Practice NCP 109 and make sure you receive an NSI Certificate of Compliance along with the user instructions.
You can find an approved access control installer via the NSI Company Finder.
Types of access control systems
There are a variety of product designs and levels of sophistication as requirements can vary. It is not only the hardware elements that need to be fit for purpose: system design must also address specific applications and the planned use.
A number of different recognition access technologies can be deployed:
- Something known to the user, e.g. a PIN code
- Something carried by the user e.g. a token or fob
- A unique identifier e.g. a biometric such as a fingerprint
The design of the system will also depend on how many doors or access points need to be secured. Your NSI installer can advise on all of these aspects.
