NSI’s ARC Gold scheme is designed for companies who meet the industry’s highest technical standards and maintain a commitment to continual improvement with an ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
Pre-application advisory visit for ARCs & RVRCs
NSI offers a Pre-Application Visit for ARCs in the design or construction phase.
This helps identify elements of ARC design that do not meet the requirements of the standards. The purpose is not to give total assurance the design meets the requirements, but to provide gap-analysis style feedback on particular areas of the standards.
The pre-application visit is an optional additional service, and not part of the formal assessment required for Approval.
All NSI approved ARCs must comply with:
BS EN ISO 9001 Quality Management System Requirements
ISO 9001 is the most well recognised and adopted management system worldwide, it is a cornerstone of NSI Gold approval.

Approval by NSI requires inspection to recognised British standards/Codes of Practice. Before an inspection for approval can take place, companies should ensure they have a copy of the appropriate Standard.
Relevant British Standards and International Standards are available to NSI approved companies and applicants through our Online Standards Subscription Service or hard copies and electronic copies can be purchased through NSI at a preferential rate.
