What does NSI approval entail?

NSI Approval is awarded to a company once it has been successfully audited against the relevant scheme criteria to confirm compliance with appropriate British and International Standards and Industry Codes of Practice.

Can I transfer from another certification body?

Yes you can easily transfer UKAS Accredited Approval to NSI. In some cases assessment days may be required.

What should I expect from the approval process?

Your application will be handled by the applications team who will guide you through the process. As soon as due diligence and eligibility checks have been completed one of our experienced auditors will contact you to arrange a mutually convenient date for your first audit. What qualifications will my auditor have?

All NSI auditors will have extensive knowledge of the British Standards and the technical requirements of the scheme for which you are seeking approval.

How long does it take to become approved?

It usually takes between 3-6 months to gain approval, depending on several factors such as readiness for assessment and auditor availability.

What is the difference between Gold and Silver certification?

NSI’s Gold schemes are designed for companies who meet the industry’s highest technical standards and maintain a commitment to continual improvement with ISO 9001 Quality Management System. NSI’s Silver schemes are designed as a stepping stone towards Gold and require companies to meet the same high level of technical competence as the Gold scheme.

Will I need to come to NSI’s offices?

No this is not necessary, however we are happy to host meetings with existing approved companies and applicant companies at our office on request.
