Overview

Accredited for the Security Institute’s CPD scheme, this course explains the principles of pre and post employment screening and record keeping, as well as the requirements for the SIA ACS scheme.

Why attend?

Security screening of applicants is a key requirement for any business hiring or sub-contracting in the security sector. This course covers the principles of security screening and the practical application of reviewing and assessing candidates information in line with BS 7858. In order to become NSI approved and maintain approval, companies will be assessed against these requirements.   

This course counts as six structured CPD hours for Security Institute members.

A course booklet and supporting documentation will be given to each delegate along with a certificate of attendance.

Learning outcomes

  • Have a good understanding of the requirements of BS 7858.
  • Authenticate basic identification documents.
  • Be able to determine if an applicant has a verifiable history, suggests options for closing employment history gaps and recognise when probationary employment can begin.
  • Be able to compile a fully documented screening file.
