Winner of the Contribution to Standards Award
NSI congratulates the winners of the 2012 award for ‘Contribution to Standards’ in the security industry. The accolade was announced at this week’s outstanding Security Excellence Awards cere mony held on Wednesday evening at London’s prestigious Park Lane Hilton Hotel. The trophy was presented by NSI’s Chief Executive Jeff Little OBE, to this year’s winner, namely the Register of Chartered Security Professionals.
The Register was created earlier this year by the Worshipful Company of Security Professionals working in close collaboration with the Security Institute. The Register’s aim is to provide a definitive means of recognising and maintaining the high standards and the continuous professional development of individuals working in the security sector. Once successfully admitted, members of the Register are entitled to use the post nominal of CSyP.
Di Thomas, Manager, Register of Chartered Security Professionals, said “We were thrilled to accept the award on behalf of everyone who contributed to the development and launch of the Register, to those initial Registrants who have put the Register on the map, and to the team responsible for continuing to take the Register forward.”
Jeff Little commented “This Register represents one of the most significant and positive steps in the ongoing campaign of professionalisation throughout the length and breadth of the security industry. NSI are proud to sponsor it for the second year of its existance.”
Little went on to say that he welcomed the inclusion of a Code of Conduct, a professional disciplinary code and the need for ongoing professional development which were all fundamental features of the register and brought the security industry more closely into line with other professions across the business space.
Well done indeed to all involved!
