NSI further strengthens industry partnerships at this year’s Summit

The opening session included updates from the Surveillance Camera Commissioner, the Managing Director of the FPA and an update on the Apprenticeship Standard for the security and fire sectors.

Summit Sessions were developed specifically for the fire safety, electronic security and security services audiences.  Over 25 speakers covered a range of subjects including the industry perspective on the ECHO automated call handling project, a variety of updates on standards, new approvals, the SIA’s new Approved Contractor Scheme assessment, the management of unwanted fire signals and document awareness.  All of these sessions were designed in the interest of raising standards, to increase awareness and strengthen partnerships across industry and stakeholders.

Fire safety and security product and service providers filled the two large exhibition halls, offering delegates the opportunity to expand their technical knowledge and understanding of the latest market developments.

New Summit features – the Apprenticeship Hub and the Associate Consultancy Programme areas – were practical, insightful additions to an already packed programme.  The Apprenticeship Hub proved particularly successful with significant interest from approved companies keen to discuss the apprenticeship process.  An output of the Summit will certainly be a better understanding of how apprenticeships work in practice, as well as facilitating engagement from colleges in key geographic areas.

Approved companies and NSI applicants took advantage of the Meet the NSI Experts area to discuss their questions with knowledgeable, technical experts.

The main sponsors, instrumental in delivering this year’s Summit were BT Redcare, CSL, the BSIA and Texecom. As a not-for profit organisation, NSI is wholly dependent on its sponsors and exhibitors who make the event possible and the enthusiasm of speakers representing all the sectors sharing their insights.

Richard Jenkins, NSI Chief Executive commented: “We were delighted to welcome more delegates than ever to this year’s Summit. Approved companies and industry stakeholders alike clearly value this focused and targeted event addressing topics specific to their needs, in an effective way.

“The Summit benefits from the significant number of like-minded industry experts ready to share latest developments in the sector. The feedback we have received so far from all participants including speakers, exhibitors and our key sponsors has been overwhelmingly positive, with many seeking to reserve their seats for our next event.

I would like to personally thank all our sponsors, exhibitors and speakers for supporting this important event.”
