NSI announces successful transition to new accreditation standard

ISO 17021-1 is the accredited standard for certification bodies, which specifies the “Requirements for bodies providing audit and certification of management systems.” This provides the framework on which NSI operates and offers its services.

NSI is working with its approved companies who are already either approved under the new regime or working towards it. One notable change is that the new standard prescribes ‘gaps in certification’ to be displayed on approved company certificates of approval.

This draws the attention of buyers and users of approved companies’ services to the commitment of NSI Gold approved companies to the ethos of continual improvement and high standards in the timely renewal of their approval.

Richard Jenkins, NSI Chief Executive: “We are delighted to be in the vanguard of new standards and to have achieved ISO 17021-1:2015 with many NSI approved companies already working under the new regime.  We  continue to issue UKAS accredited certificates with the highly respected ‘tick and crown’ for both product certification and management systems, demonstrating the commitment of approved companies to the highest standards in protecting homes and businesses, and the general public throughout the UK”.
