Engineers of Tomorrow: The UK Security Skills Challenge/Awards
Situated in IFSEC (stand D500 opposite the Tool Zone) we are supporting the Engineers of Tomorrow: The UK Security Skills Challenge, a national competition designed specifically for young engineers (up to the age of 24) and apprentices, who want to showcase their skills to be in with a chance of £1000 cash and other top prizes. Competitors undertake a 60 minute assessment, assessing a previously installed intruder alarm system, identifying the faults, and re-commissioning the system. Come and show your support by watching the live challenges!
NSI Auditors will be adjudicating throughout the three days of the Challenge and NSI Chief Executive, Richard Jenkins, will be presenting the heat winners prizes on the stand on Thursday afternoon. Overall winners and their employers will be invited to attend the prestigious Security Excellence Awards in London in October where the excellent prizes will be formally presented.

Richard Jenkins
Our Chief Executive, Richard Jenkins will be at the launch of this year’s 100 in 100 initiative. This is taking place on the Central Stage at IFSEC at 12.30pm on Wednesday. Over 1,300 apprentices are embarking on a new career in the security sector following the outstanding success of the 2013 100 in 100 campaign and we hope that 2014 can build on that record number. Lead by CSL DualCom and Skills for Security, supporting organisations also include the BSIA, CSL, FPA, FIA, SSAIB and UBM. Matthew Handcock, Minister of State for Skills and Enterprise will also be providing a personal video endorsement.

Following on from the 100 in 100 launch, Richard will be participating at the State of the Nation Seminar, again on the Central Stage, at 1pm. Chaired by Brian Sims and with the involvement of industry leaders, the session will cover key trends in corporate security, guarding, systems development and more, and includes an open Q&A involving members of the audience. Be sure to come along and listen to what they have to say!
