New NSI ‘Life Safety Fire Risk Assessment’ Scheme Gains Momentum
The introduction of BAFE’s SP205-1 Life Safety Fire Risk Assessment scheme at the end of October 2012, has resulted in NSI receiving many enquiries from those seeking third party certification. NSI would like to congratulate the latest company to achieve NSI Gold Approval for this scheme – C.S. Todd & Associates Ltd, an organisation considered to be a leading authority within the fire safety industry, specifically so for Life Safety Fire Risk Assessment.
The SP205 Scheme was developed for organisations that provide Life Safety Fire Risk Assessment services in the UK. Approval to this scheme will provide their clients, or those commissioning fire risk assessments with the assurance that they will receive a quality service by an organisation that is regularly audited to ensure compliance with set criteria.
NSI played an instrumental part in developing this BAFE scheme and was proud to be one of the first certification bodies to achieve UKAS Accreditation.
Colin T odd Managing Director of C.S. Todd & Associates, stated: “Although we are one of the longest established fire consultancy practices in the UK, we believe that our BAFE SP205 Certification provides an even higher level of confidence for clients in the quality of our fire risk assessment work”.
He continued “We also firmly believe that this certification scheme will result in an improvement in the standards of the Fire Risk Assessment in our profession, on which the safety of the occupants of buildings now depends. We found NSI professional in their approach and able to fully understand the nature and scope of The Fire Risk Assessment that legislation requires.”
