New Chairmen Elected for NSI Southern Regional Meetings

NSI Regional Meetings provide an important link between the NSI executive and its NACOSS Gold approved companies within their respective regions. NSI is pleased to announce the appointment of a new Chairman and Assistant Chairman for the Southern Region.

At present there are ten regions across the UK, all offering a forum for debate, shared experiences, industry updates and discussions on best practice. The meetings take place on average, every sixth months at various locations within each region.

Each region has a Chairman and Assistant Chairman nominated from NSI NACOSS Gold companies within the regions. The 10 Assistant Chairmen also sit on NSI’s Regional Technical Liaison Committee; ensuring technical issues raised at these meetings are reported on at NSI Regional Meetings. The ‘Southern Region’ has recently elected Andrew Hogger and Brian Cottrell as Chairman and Assistant Chairman respectively.

Andrew, Director of Universal Security Group, Slough, has been employed in the security industry since a teenager, when he began working for the family business.  Universal Security Group provides intruder, CCTV and Access Control security systems for commercial and domestic properties. Andrew now runs the ‘Alarm’ department within Universal Security Group.

Brian was recently appointed Quality Manager for Orion Security Solutions, Oxford, a company providing fire, intruder, CCTV and access control systems.  Brian previously spent 20 years with a major high street retailer dealing with all aspects of physical, electrical and manned security.

The next NSI Regional Meeting for the South is due to takes place at the NSI offices in Maidenhead on Thursday 19th September 2013.  This particular regional meeting is open to all NSI NACOSS Gold and Systems Silver approved companies within the region. Amongst other topics, a key focus for the meeting will be an overview of the requirements for intruder alarm installers wishing to diversify their certification to include fire.
