In the July/August Edition of Fire & Risk Management, NSI Chief Executive Richard Jenkins’ highlights how the security sector’s success in tackling false alarms has greatly assisted police effectiveness in attending burgled premises and argues that the lessons learned could assist with saving lives and increasing cost effectiveness in responding to fire alarms.
The false alarm issues that were detrimental to the security sector over two decades ago were aided in no small part by Third Party Certification (TPC) of alarm systems in partnership between industry and the police and Richard’s article explains how TPC could achieve similar, or even greater gains, within the fire safety sector.
