1000th Registration for BAFE
NSI would like to congratulate BAFE on the significant achievement of their 1000th registration. NSI approved Thomson Fire Consultancy Ltd, based in Saffron Walden, has been announced as the 1000th organisation to become BAFE registered.
Thomson Fire Consultancy Ltd chose NSI as their UKAS accredited certification body to assess them against BAFE’s SP205 Scheme for Life Safety Fire Risk Assessment.
NSI was the one of the first Certification Bodies to become UKAS accredited to deliver BAFE’s SP205 scheme in October 2012. It is evident from the number of enquiries received by NSI, that there is increasing awareness amongst specifiers and end users about the necessity of employing fully competent organisations to undertake such work. Fire risk assessment organisations are also keen to prove to their clients that they are independently audited by a specialist Certification Body.
In addition to the SP205 Scheme, NSI is also licensed by BAFE to deliver other fire-related third party certification schemes: Fire Detection and Alarm Systems, Emergency Lighting, Contract Maintenance of Portable Fire Extinguishers and Fixed Gaseous Suppression Systems. Those organisations wishing to prove their competence by becoming certificated to the BAFE schemes, will gain dual BAFE and NSI approval following successful completion of the NSI application process.
Jeff Little, NSI Chief Executive comments “NSI is a strong advocate of organisations who aim to raise standards in the security and fire sectors and we congratulate BAFE on this significant milestone in their evolution. The 1000th registration is testament to BAFE’s standing in the UK’s fire sector and I have no doubt there will be many more to come”.
