Spotlighting Tomorrow’s Talent: WorldSkills UK 2025 Fire & Security Finalists
NSI is delighted to shine a spotlight on the finalists for the WorldSkills UK 2025 Fire & Security Competition, whose national final takes place next week in Wales. As part of the independent judging panel, we are honoured to support a platform that recognises young talent and showcases the high level of skill driving the future of the UK fire and security sector.
This competition is important because it celebrates the technical excellence, precision and problem-solving abilities of UK apprentices on a national stage. It also inspires young people and those considering a career change to develop practical, real-world skills, while highlighting the exciting and rewarding career paths available within the fire and security industry. Beyond the trophy, the competition offers life-changing opportunities – opening doors, advancement and even international recognition!

The Road to the Finals
The 2025 journey began at April’s National Qualifiers held during The Security Event at Birmingham NEC, the sector’s flagship exhibition. Over three intensive days, competitors tackled a series of practical challenges, from installation and wiring tasks to demonstrating compliance with industry standards. NSI was proud to serve on the judging panel, ensuring every aspect of the competition was assessed with fairness, rigour, and industry-aligned standards.
The NEC Qualifier delivered a high-pressure, real-world environment, allowing competitors to perform in front of judges, employers, educators and industry leaders. The level of skill and professionalism on display was exceptional, reflecting both the talent of the apprentices and the support of their training providers and employers.
The Finals in Wales
The finals will take place over two days at the University of Wales, Trinity Saint David, Waterfront Campus, Swansea, on 26th and 27th November, culminating in a prestigious awards ceremony on Friday 28th November at the International Convention Centre (ICC) Newport – a fitting stage for celebrating vocational excellence.
NSI remains committed to championing the next generation of fire and security professionals, celebrating their talent and supporting their growth within the industry.
We wish all the finalists the very best of luck as they prepare for next week’s finals. We also extend our appreciation to the employers and training providers whose commitment to nurturing talent continues to strengthen the fire and security sector.
