In the latest issue of Fire Safety Matters, NSI Chief Executive, Richard Jenkins talks about how professional fire safety providers are now able to obtain Third Party Certification from NSI for BAFE’s SP207 Evacuation Alert Systems Scheme.
The new SP207 scheme – which NSI has been involved in since its inception – calls upon the BS 8629 Code of Practice for the Design, Installation, Commissioning and Maintenance of Evacuation Alert Systems for use by fire and rescue services for high rise buildings. Richard also explains the unique “MOT Principle” assurance enabling fire safety providers to obtain an NSI/BAFE Certificate of Compliance, which is issued by the approved fire safety provider at the time of commissioning and renewed at each scheduled maintenance visit (every 6 months).
