Security Matters Magazine – ‘On Inspection’

In the April edition of Security Matters magazine, NSI CEO Richard Fogelman spotlights a collaborative safeguarding initiative aimed at enhancing security and fire safety standards in multi-occupancy commercial buildings in the City of London and nationwide.

The Building Security Assessment Scheme (BSAS) was launched by CoLCPA in conjunction with the City of London Police, the City of London Corporation representatives of managing agents and the security industry. It responded to the security risks faced by the multi-tenanted properties, recognising the necessity for tailored protection measures in such environments.

Today, the BSAS is a mark of quality that signals a commitment to safety and security. Participation in the scheme not only demonstrates a proactive approach to managing security risks but also provides a structured framework for continuous improvement. With the support of NSI, the scheme now offers a comprehensive assessment process that includes on-site visits, risk assessments, and verification of security practices, providing valuable insights into existing strengths and constructive feedback for potential enhancements.

The refreshed scheme is an essential tool for any organisation looking to enhance its building security operations and stay abreast of legislative changes.
