Proposed Changes to SIA’s Self Assessment Workbook Published

The Security Industry Authority (SIA) have recently come to the end of  a lengthy review stage of the Self Assessment Workbook (SAW) for their Approved Contractor Scheme, following comments and input from the industry and Assessing Bodies including NSI.  The SIA are now circulating the proposed 2016 updates which will be of particular interest to SIA Approved Contractors. 

The SIA say ‘enhancements have been driven by a priority to simplify the SAW and assessment process’. Changes will become mandatory requirements from 1st December 2016 (see the pdf document below for detail).  Between 1st June and 30th November, NSI (as an Assessing Body for the SIA’s Approved Contractor Scheme) will raise any non-conformances in relation to the changes, as Improvement Options only.

The SIA are requesting comments and feedback on the proposed changes by Friday 29 April via email to mailto:ACSenquiries@sia.gsi.gov.uk with the subject ‘ACS SAW Review’.
