Code of Practice (NCP 109) Supports Safe Care Homes

In the latest edition of Care Home Management magazine, NSI Chief Executive, Richard Jenkins, discusses NSI’s Code of Practice, NCP 109  for the design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of Access Control Systems.  Those responsible for the security of care homes can be reassured that contractors complying with the Code of Practice are adhering to the latest standards.

The recently published third edition of NCP 109 draws upon the latest British Standards – including BS 7273-4 (fire protection) and BS 7671 (electrical installations) and encompasses the latest technologies. Care homes choosing providers who comply with the Code of Practice can be reassured the access control system design will reflect their specific needs, usability and operating requirements.
