Migration of PSTN Telephone Lines to the Digital ‘All IP’ Network Update
The ‘Digital All IP’ migration from traditional PSTN telephone lines will have an impact on possibly many alarm installers remotely monitored alarm systems and their clients, both in terms of equipment compatibility and/or disruption to the alarm monitoring when migration to ‘All IP’ takes place.
The latest Openreach “Stop Sell” information has been updated, with 86 exchanges added to the list from August 2021 and changes from the previous list, with some also due to move to Stop Sell in October 2021. NSI approved companies can view the full exchange update via NSI Circular Letter 024/21 in the Company Login area.
PSTN lines will no longer be available in “Stop Sell” areas. Meaning that, as well as no new PSTN lines being available, re-connections of existing lines will no longer exist, for example in the instance of a change of tenant or homeowner or where the tenant or homeowner changes the communication provider
