Electronic Call Handling Operations Ltd (ECHO) Industry Update

From 1st April 2020, NPCC policy will see the requirement for Alarm Receiving Centres (ARCs) to start using electronic call handling to Police control rooms.  ECHO is a partnership of industry stakeholders who are working on delivering this requirement from multiple ARCs to multiple Police forces.

The aim of ECHO is to deliver a centralised, fully automated electronic call handling service to reduce the pressure on the emergency services and ARCs by reducing their call handling times and errors that can occur from a manual response handling.

Those with an interest in the ECHO project wishing to hear first hand from the ECHO Directors, Police and other industry representatives may be interested in attending the ECHO industry conference in London from 2pm on 13 November at Informa, 240 Blackfriars Road, London, SE1 8BF, following the CSL Industry Forum.

Martin Harvey and David Wilkinson will start the talks at 2pm providing attendees with an overview of the project, how the ECHO service works and industry updates including the appointment of AVR Group as ECHO’s new service partner who will deliver the electronic call handling service.
