Thoughts on security in 2022 and beyond – Richard Jenkins, NSI CEO

City Security Magazine LogoIn the Winter 21 edition of City Security magazine, Richard Jenkins, NSI’s CEO gives his thoughts on the future of the security sector over the next 5-10 years in the magazine’s Future Vision section.

Contributing alongside other prominent security industry representatives, Richard hones in on the reduction of false alarms, acknowledging how far this has come, but emphasising the need for further improvement.  Newly revised British Standard BS 8418:2021 for the Design, Installation, Commissioning and Maintenance of Detector-Activated Surveillance Systems has the potential to make a fundamental change, enabling more premises to take advantage of police response for activations from monitored Video Surveillance systems/CCTV when premises are unoccupied.
