Head of Standards

NSI’s position as a leading Certification Body in the security and fire sectors is built on integrity, unquestionable competence and professionalism.

The Role

To strengthen technical capabilities for the future, NSI is to appoint a new Head of Standards to lead technical work as NSI develops and furthers its leading position. Reporting to the Chief Executive, and working alongside the Head of Technical Services, the Head of Standards will contribute to NSI’s strategy, product development and forward planning to ensure NSI’s certification schemes remain best suited in an evolving market place.

The Candidate

Likely to be qualified to degree level in electronic or electrical engineering, and with up-to-date knowledge of relevant modern technologies, the candidate will be experienced in managing projects and technical writing in plain English. A background in standards development and/or certification would be useful. Essential skills include the ability to communicate clearly at all levels and in building relationships with key stakeholders.

Regional Auditor (Northern Ireland)

 The Role

Based in Northern Ireland, but also auditing in the Republic of Ireland, the role involves undertaking audits of electronic security/fire systems (intruder alarms, CCTV, access control and fire safety systems) and Alarm Receiving Centres for compliance with British Standards and other technical specifications, including assessment and audit of Quality Management Systems complying with BS EN ISO 9001.

The Candidate

You should be able to work independently and as part of a team and be comfortable in dealing with people at all levels within companies.  Good communication skills and a high standard of written and spoken English is essential.  You also need to have a reasonable level of computer literacy and to be familiar with standard software applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
