/ Restructure of Management team at NSI

01 July 2012

The National Security Inspectorate has announced a restructuring of its top level management team at its headquarters in Maidenhead, Berkshire.

A review of NSI’s management structure was instigated earlier this year by the NSI Board with the aim of streamlining the management effort and ensuring the certification body is more agile and focussed upon its approved companies.

As a result of the review, Chris Pinder becomes Director of External Affairs with responsibility for the outward looking vision and stakeholder management aspects of the organisation.  Elaine Ward takes on the role of Commercial Director, with a sales, marketing, training and affinity partnerships remit and Kay Aitkin retains her operations portfolio with the title of Director of Service Delivery.  Graeme Hazlewood steps into the Business Support Director’s seat, overseeing NSI’s finance, IT and infrastructure.

Jeff Little, NSI’s Chief Executive, believes these changes will enable the Inspectorate to become more responsive and proactive in the fast changing environment of fire and security certification.

Little comments “I believe that the changing threat, the advancing technology and the advent of new regulatory requirements all combine to make it essential that we adapt to what is in effect a changed paradigm”.

Little continues “NSI has invested in training a new breed of auditor for the fire risk assessment market and hopes to lead the field in this area.  Audits for health & safety, environmental management, aviation and maritime security as well as information security management systems are included in the updated portfolio of capabilities.  Whilst our core business remains fully centred on our traditional centres of excellence, we must respond to our approved companies seeking a more joined up and integrated audit regime.

The restructuring sees the departure of Paul Bigland and Ian Sanderson from the Senior Management Team.
